Custom Manufacturing & Design, LLC (CMD) is a small manufacturing company run by two brothers who have grown up in the steel fabrication and machine business. We have over 25 years of experience in doing custom steel work in Washington and Oregon from small parts, welding projects, and prototypes to large structural steel projects and buildings.
In our many years in business we have cultivated a solid resource base of vendor & suppliers for our diverse set of projects. With this base we are able to draw from the local area of each job we are working on to provide the best service to our customers. Our project managers regularly research new products and ideas for the more sustainable and economical construction methods and materials.
We are experienced in providing LEEDS certifiable products for our jobs. Most of our materials (steel) are 90 – 98% recycled content. CMD actively solicits subcontractors, and suppliers who also provide recycled products and a diverse workforce.
CMD strives to provide a multi-disciplined, full service experience for our customer by doing our own 3-D modeling design work, in-house delivery, management, and material supply. This “one-stop” approach allows us to have greater control over the associated costs and schedules of our products.
Our shop and field journeymen welding crews are WABO certified, and we have an in-house quality/cost control management system headed by a highly skilled quality assurance manager.
As a company we strive to provide a positive atmosphere in which our employees work, and we are involved in our community. We are working on an apprenticeship program that will reach out to the local high schools and colleges to train new workers in our industry, we provide a float in our local parade and support local businesses and community events.
